Guidelines

Send all work to writinghour@gmail.com as a .doc, .docx, .rtf, .pdf, .odt, .jpeg, or .tif attachment. Each piece should be its own document. In the email body, include your full name, the name you would like to be published under, the genre of your work, contact information, and a short biography including website link if applicable.

We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us if your work has been accepted elsewhere.

Fiction/Nonfiction: submit up to three pieces at no more than 5 pages each. For anything longer, query us. We’re not likely to publish anything much longer, but there’s always a tiny chance we will.

Poetry/Prose poetry: submit up to five poems. Poems that go together should be submitted as one document. Unrelated poems should be sent as separate documents. Total length of combined submissions should not be more than ten pages, but again, query us for anything outside of these guidelines.

Illustration/Photography: Send up to seven images in .jpeg, .tif, or .pdf formats.

If accepted

Author/artist will receive a print copy of the magazine and be listed on the website’s Contributors page with website/portfolio links. Though we would like to, we cannot pay for work at this point. After publication, all rights will return to the author.

Author/artist will also be asked for their mailing address to receive the magazine.
